NCP Services' story
As a company, NCP Services have strict employee
requirements and a stringent application process they follow when
recruiting Civil Enforcement Officers (Traffic Wardens).
Reed in Partnership organised a two-day event designed to help
their Members who were applying to NCP. Since then we have
spent time adapting their course materials and expanding training
in response to the requirements of the NCP recruitment process.
Central to this process has been working cooperatively with
Alistair Kirkland, the Process Manager for NCP
Services. Alistair has provided feedback on the success of
Reed in Partnership's routeway training, and where he would like to
see changes in the material.
"Reed in Partnership's routeway course has
assisted us with getting a better and more informed calibre of
person for the Civil Enforcement Officer role... as a result of the
routeway's success we have now implemented it as a way of
recruiting across other London divisions."
Alistair informed Reed in Partnership that some employees were
struggling to pass the Parking Contravention Codes test, without
which they cannot start work. We added new material and
expanded the routeways course to include this training.
As a result, the NCP routeways has a 70% conversion into work,
and the trainers are aiming to reach 75% soon. By providing NCP
with candidates who are better equipped for the job and more
informed about the role they are applying for, Reed in Partnership
has helped NCP to increase their employee retention rate from 42%
to 67% in the last 6 months.
