Michael's story

When Michael joined Reed in Partnership he was keen to work, but
had some serious health problems to surmount. In 2004 he had
undergone a quadruple bypass heart operation, and his aftercare
left him feeling withdrawn and lethargic. However he was determined
to get a job, and spoke to his GP about getting his medication
reduced.
His Employment Adviser Anna worked with him to update his CV,
and gave useful advice and guidance regarding job goals and job
searching. After finding some good potential jobs, Michael also
received help with travel expenses to interviews, and soon he was
offered a place as an X-Ray Operator.
As Anna says:
"Michael is an inspiration in that when there is
a will there is always a way."
Since he started work, Michael has been offered a promotion and
now works as a sterile services assistant in a hospital close to
his home. With reduced travelling time, Michael has more time to
relax, and with good opportunities for personal and professional
development, Michael thoroughly enjoys his work.
Michael was the first customer to be helped into work by Reed in
Partnership's Pathways to Work office in South London.
