Create a winning CV

Selling yourself
Your CV (or curriculum vitae) sells your personality and skills to your potential new employer. It should be written in a way that will encourage them to get hold of you and want to find out more. It will make sure you are the one they invite to interview and not the other people going for the same job.
Employers read hundreds of CVs all the time. So how do you make yours the one that they read? Make it stand out from the competition by selling your personality and skills and not just describing your history. The style that CVs are written in changes over time, make sure yours is up to scratch.

How to present your experience in the best way
Bring out the facts and figures to back up what you say about yourself.
Instead of saying "I arrive to work on time" try this "In my last job I achieved 100% punctuality over a 4 year period". Or instead of saying "I can work in a team" try saying "I am excellent at working in a team. As assistant baker in my previous job I helped our team of five produce cakes and pastries for a whole days sales by 8:30am everyday". Give yourself credit and for what you have achieved in life and at work.

CVs help to:
• Sell your personality and skills to a potential employer.
• Get you to the top of the interview pile.
• Aim for the job, make sure you are the number one preferred candidate from the start!
• Encourage the interviewer to find out more about you.
