Start NCS

The National Citizen Service (NCS) is a truly life-changing experience for 16-17 year olds, which brings together young people from all different backgrounds to positively impact their community, learn new skills and achieve their potential, all while making new friends. At a time when teenagers are making big choices about their futures, NCS is there to give them confidence and self-belief. Our graduates come out fired up about their future, open to other people around them and convinced that they can make their mark on the world.

Reed in Partnership currently delivers NCS in the South West and East of England.

What will I do on NCS?

NCS is broken down into four stages:

1) Adventure - first you'll get into the great outdoors, taking part in exhilarating activities that get the adrenaline pumping, from canoeing to ziplining and rock climbing to name just a few

2) Skills - next you'll get to develop new skills for life, staying away from home and building your independence

3) Social Action - you'll get the chance to make a real impact on your community, by designing a social action project to tackle an issue of your choice

4) Celebration - finally, when you graduate you'll get the chance to celebrate your achievements, and join the lifelong NCS family with access to support and resources for whatever path you chose in life
