Training

We recognise the importance of giving people the skills and advice they need for sustainable and progressive work.

Our role in the London Brokerage Consortium
Reed in Partnership works as part of the London Brokerage Consortium - one of three Skills Brokerage contractors appointed by Train to Gain in the London region. We exceeded our target and engaged over 5,500 employers from April 2006 to March 2007, helping over 6,000 learners achieve NVQ Level 2 qualifications.

Helping people gain the skills they need for a lasting career
For the Skill Up Pilot Adult Apprentice Programme, we’ve given information advice and guidance to 185 adults against a target of 110. We’re profiled to exceed our targets of 35 full apprenticeships, giving learners a platform of skills they can use for a lasting career. Some of our learners will go to work for themselves and make a lasting contribution to their communities.

Helping Managers increase their skills
Reed in Partnership also helps Management teams to increase their skills so that they can help their workforce. We won the Train to Gain Leadership and Management contract for Yorkshire and Humber for March 2007 to July 2008; this programme is designed to help the personal development of Managing Directors. We expect to exceed our targets of raising the skills of 1,200 (to date 820) Managing Directors in this time.

Helping businesses of different sizes to train their staff
We have also recently won Train to Gain contracts to enable businesses of different sizes to access the skills their employees need. We will help 300 large scale employers such as Local Authorities in addition to 2,300 Small to Medium Enterprises from April of this year to March 2009. Employees will be helped to attain NVQs, apprenticeships, and Skills for Life courses, raising their aspirations and contributing to a more skilled workforce across the country.
