New NCS network launches

28 Oct 2019

Reed in Partnership is pleased to be part of the new National Citizen Service (NCS) network.

We will be providing NCS to young adults in West Midlands and the East of England with our 22 local delivery partners. These partners include a range of colleges, charities and organisations based in local communities. We will also be supporting the NCS Trust to recruit young adults for the programme in schools and colleges in London.

The new NCS network has expanded its delivery to include hundreds of partners in a move to provide more value and improved experience for young adults. Since NCS was launched ten years ago more than 500,000 school and college students have taken part in the programme. They have each had the opportunity to live away from home during an action-packed week of activities, such as abseiling, watersports and rock climbing, before returning to their community where they work in teams to develop beneficial social action projects. This might include fundraising for a charity, raising awareness of a social issue or direct action to improve local communities. During their time on the programme they have the opportunity to learn skills for life, including public speaking, project planning and team working.

Rhodri Thomas, Managing Director of Reed in Partnership said:

“Reed in Partnership is excited to be part the new NCS network alongside our local deliver partners. During our seven years of involvement with NCS we have seen the transformative impact the programme has had on so many young adults. As part of the network we will support thousands more to experience the benefits of NCS - trying exciting new activities, developing their skills and confidence and discovering ways to benefit their local communities.”

We are currently working with our delivery partners and schools to start signing up young adults for the Summer 2020 programme. For more information about taking part in NCS please visit wearencs.com
